Content:
Miguel, nicknamed Kilo Vasquez, grows up in impoverished circumstances. His father is an unsuccessful petty criminal who has little time for his family. But Kilo idolizes him. He doesn't just want to emulate his father; he wants to do better than him. He establishes contact with drug dealers, aiming to gradually build up his own organization. A prostitute called Sabeva helps him greatly, making use of her contacts with South America. He and his friends T-Bone and Loco become wealthy. Kilo lands in jail, but gets his sentence reduced by killing the murderer of the governor's daughter. Even through Governor Lancaster initially protects him, Kilos activities start to get too much for him. Orders are given for Kilo and his companions to be killed. Kilo still manages to fly his father and son to Cuba and take revenge on the governor with the assistance of T-Bone. In the end, they cannot win the unequal fight. Only grandfather Manny and Kilo's son Miguelito survive with enough money to live in Cuba.
