Childhood and Youth
Ralf Möller was born on January 12, 1959 in Recklinghausen (Germany). He was soon involved in sports, both at home and in the "SU Neptun Recklinghausen" swim club, at seven years old, where he was a long-time member. He was a first-class sportsman even back then. When his mother talks about those times now she says: "Little Ralf was always up and about, and one could even imagine he was already training for the world championships back then."
But at first Ralf enjoyed and was content with swimming. Success in various competitions, for instance first place in the Westphalia swim championship, motivated him to train even harder. In his youth, he already had a love of the water, for example he enjoyed long diving expeditions.
After these kinds of strenuous enterprises, as a 16 year old, Ralf already understood that he needed to give himself the chance to recuperate both physically and mentally. The above picture shows Ralf relaxing during summer vacation on the coast of Yugoslavia. A healthy mind is the key to a healthy body.
At 17, Ralf discovered his passion for bodybuilding and boxing, which didn't stop him from successfully completing his training as a lifeguard. But the following years were all focused on one goal: to become world champion in body building.
